Grilled pleurotus mushrooms
You will need:
Pleurotus mushrooms (larger pieces)
Olive oil
Lemon
Salt
Oregano
Preparation
There is no need for any special preparation process, but perhaps you will need to cut some of the pieces in a better shape to stay on the grate securely. Prepare the oil and lemon mix (90ml (3 fl.oz) olive oil - 30ml (1 fl.oz) lemon juice). Shake very well, until it's creamy.
Grilling on your grill
Place the charcoals in a pile inside the firecabin. Put alcohol soaked cotton on top of the pile and light it. When the charcoals are fully lit, spread them evenly. You can reduce the temperature when needed by throwing charcoal ash on top. Grill the mushrooms in a low temperature.
Baste the mushrooms, on their smooth side, with olive oil or the oil-lemon mixture before placing them on the grilling grate. Try grilling them with rotation, as shown in the following video. To complement this dish, you can also roast some potatoes with rotation on the side, as is in the video. Roast the potatoes in a high temperature from the start.
While the rotating skewers are being grilled, pay your full attention to the mashrooms on the grate. Turn them quickly and baste them with oil or oil-lemon mixture.
At least two turnings will be needed. The overall grilling time will be short. Remove them from the fire as soon as their color turns goldish. Pour oil-lemon mixture over them and add some salt and oregano.
Serve them hot along with seasonal raw salads. A good company is essential, as always!
Happy grilling to everyone!
